God's Little Helpers
The first grade class at Dennis Earl Elementary Scho
ol, Turlock, California proved that pennies go a long ways. Across the globe. Along with their teacher, Jodi Felt, these helpers collected pennies from everyone in the school. The result: $100 in pennies that kept newborn Scheer babies warm at night. Scheer thanks these little helpers and everyone at Dennis Earl Elementary.

Blankets are part of Scheer's complimentary baby pack project, started by Rita Bailie. Included in each pack are: a blanket, two diapers, a shirt, a cap, and a bar of soap.

Terrorist Bomb Victim
Two shepherd boys are playing in the fields. They come across a small package. Thinking it could be some food or an old toy, they rush over to it. But just as they reach to grab the odd looking package, it explodes, blowing them both backwards. The curious package the unsuspecting children came across, was a bomb planted by a Nepali terrorist organization called the Maoists. The two boys were rushed to Scheer, but having only one surgeon and the resources to manage one of them, we were forced to transfer one to another hospital. Our general surgeon worked all night and by the grace of God, saved the little shepherd boy's life.

Buffalo Plays Mommy
Angeline Wee, of Singapore, could have come and gone, just another medical student, but instead she left behind a very "large" gift. She left us Doodhilo-Amma (which means nursemaid). This hospital buffalo provides our pediatric patients with fresh milk every morning. On days that our Doodhilo-Amma is feeling generous, the extra milk will go to feed the poor students of Banepa.
